Privacy policy

What we collect, why, and how to opt out. Plain words, no tricks.

Who we are

District Beta Inc., operating as District Beta, 1886 London Line, Sarnia, Ontario N7W 1B3. This policy covers our website, online booking, forms and the arcade itself. We follow Canada's privacy law (PIPEDA) and anti-spam law (CASL).

What we collect

  • When you book online: your name, email, phone number and booking details. Bookings run through FareHarbor, which handles the payment.
  • When you pay in person or buy a gift card: what you bought and how you paid. Payments and gift cards run through Square. We never see your full card number.
  • When you fill in a form, like a party enquiry, a group quote or the Birthday Club: what you type in. For the Birthday Club, that includes your child's first name and birthday, entered by you.
  • When you apply for a job: your resume and anything you send with it.
  • When you visit the website: the pages you look at, how you scroll and click on them, and basic device details, through the analytics and advertising tools described below.

How we use it

  • To run your booking or party and get in touch about it.
  • To answer your questions and send quotes.
  • To send news and offers, but only if you said yes to email or texts.
  • To understand how people use the site and to measure our advertising.

Email and texts

We only send marketing emails or texts if you tick the box for them. Email and texts are separate boxes and neither is ticked for you. Every message has a way to unsubscribe, or reply STOP to a text. If you have booked or bought from us in the last two years, we may send you occasional updates, which you can stop at any time.

Advertising and analytics

We use the Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API, along with Google Analytics, to understand how people find and use our website and to measure and improve our advertising on Facebook and Instagram. These tools may collect information such as the pages you visit, the buttons you click, your IP address, browser and device details, and cookie identifiers. When you book online or submit a form, our booking provider (FareHarbor) and our customer management system (GoHighLevel) may share limited booking details with Meta, such as your email address, phone number, IP address and purchase amount, in a scrambled (hashed) form where possible. Meta uses this to tell us whether our ads led to a booking and to show our ads to people likely to be interested.

We also use Microsoft Clarity to see where people click, how far they scroll and where they leave a page, so we can fix the parts of the site that are confusing. Clarity turns these clicks, scrolls and mouse movements into replays and heatmaps of visits. It hides anything you type into a form, and it does not run on our Co-Op Gaming Social pages. Clarity sets cookies (_clck, _clsk and MUID) and stores its data on Microsoft servers, which may be outside Canada. Replays are kept for 30 days and heatmap data for up to 9 months. Microsoft may also use this information as described in its privacy statement at privacy.microsoft.com, including to improve its own products and advertising.

Who we share it with

Only the services that help us run the business: FareHarbor for bookings, Square for payments and gift cards, GoHighLevel for forms and messages, Make to keep those records in sync, Google and Meta for analytics and ads, and Microsoft for Clarity site analytics. We do not sell or rent your personal information.

Your choices

  • Opt out of ad tracking by adjusting the cookie settings in your browser, by updating your ad preferences at facebook.com/adpreferences, or through the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada at youradchoices.ca.
  • Stop Microsoft Clarity from recording your visits by blocking cookies and scripts from clarity.ms in your browser settings or with a content blocker.
  • Unsubscribe from email or texts at any time.
  • Ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it.
